Vehicle Ownership & Responsibility Policy: Carmine's Import Service
Our Commitment to Transparency and Care
At Carmine's Import Service, we value our relationship with you. As one of the Top 50 Best Shops in the U.S. (rated by the Automotive Training Institute), we take pride in delivering exceptional service at our North Carolina facility. When you entrust us with your vehicle, we treat it as our own, guided by our Code of Ethics and commitment to excellence.
Our Responsibilities to You
Our team is dedicated to:
- Providing high-quality repairs at fair, value-driven prices.
- Using only high-quality parts from reputable manufacturers or distributors.
- Employing highly skilled technicians.
- Supplying itemized invoices that clearly detail parts and services, including any approved used parts (installed only in specific, customer-approved cases). Replaced parts are available for inspection upon request and may carry a warranty.
- Taking personal responsibility for each customer's experience.
- Recommending necessary repairs and preventive maintenance, clearly explaining what addresses current issues and what ensures long-term vehicle health.
- Offering price estimates for all work.
- Providing or displaying warranties for parts and services.
- Obtaining prior authorization for all work, typically via electronic signature.
- Notifying you promptly if appointments or completion timelines cannot be met.
- Maintaining service records for at least one year.
- Exercising reasonable care for your vehicle while in our possession.
- Upholding the highest industry standards and addressing any automotive industry shortcomings.
- Maintaining the integrity of our staff and the broader automotive profession.
Our Liability for Damages
We are liable for damages caused by negligent repairs. For example, if we perform an oil change and fail to secure the drain plug, leading to engine damage due to oil loss, we will take responsibility and repair the vehicle at our expense, even if the issue is discovered after payment. However:
- ? If we offer to correct negligent repairs at no cost and you decline, you cannot claim damages for issues you chose not to address.
- ? You are responsible for avoiding further damage through negligence. For instance, if you notice oil leaking after an oil change and continue driving instead of stopping and contacting us, we are not liable for resulting damage that could have been prevented.
Your Responsibility as a Vehicle Owner
Your vehicle is ultimately your responsibility. While we strive to provide expert diagnostics, repairs, and recommendations, we are not liable for:
- Failures due to pre-existing conditions.
- Issues from improper maintenance.
- Damage caused by uncontrollable events (e.g., Acts of God).
For example, if you approve an alternator repair and we determine your battery is functional to save you costs, but the battery fails shortly after, we will provide an estimate and appointment to replace it, but the cost is your responsibility. We are committed to addressing any errors on our part and offering the best possible warranties, but we cannot cover repairs for issues we did not cause.
Building a Lasting Partnership
We aim for a meaningful, long-term relationship with every customer. Please review our policies to ensure mutual understanding before service begins. We love serving you and your vehicle, and we're here to provide exceptional care while expecting you to take responsibility for your vehicle's upkeep.
